About the Artist :
Born ' In the bush ' northwest of Jupiter Well in the Gibson Desert of Western Australia. Charlie Tjapangati and his family were brought to Papunya by the Northern Territory Welfare Branch Patrol in the 1960's. Charlie began painting for Papunya Tula Artists sometime during 1978. Later he moved to Walungurru in 1982.
His paintings usually depict the classical 'Tingari Cycle ' of stories.
