About the Artist:
Lindsay is an important tribal leader in the Utopia district and is the headman at Mulga Bore Outstation. He was the only male to participate in the silk batik project in the Robert Holmes'a' Court Collection. Lindsay started painting in 1987 with a number of men,including Louie Pwerle, Paddy Ngale and Paddy Petyarre.
Lindsay's paintings are iconic, he uses the concentric circles and parallel line with background dotting of ochre yellow, red, black and white. He is also known for under- painting usually in grey ochre, making his paintings quite distinct. His paintings are in major public and private collections nationally and internationally.
